Trip to California without Delta Dog Days

Labor Day Weekend with Delta Dog Days

Delta Dog

Monday I took Delta to the vet to get her chipped and make sure all her vaccines were in order and find out when we can get her fixed.  Well that did not work.  She snapped at the vet growled and I have no idea why.   Took her back today because I enrolled her in Beginning "puppy school" for Monday and she was missing the flu shot that I need for her training.  I am in the middle of my therapy needing therapy.  She is so sweet and accommodating.     Long story but a different Vet from Monday came in and Delta was "oh, ok" and wasn't.  She needed one vaccine.  I left the room.  She would not even let them listen to her heart, lift her ears, all normal stuff.  Well, suffice it to say, they got the flu shot in her but I could hear it from the treatment room and they threw a towel over her head to get this done.  No one knows what she went through with her original owner BUT, this is a pure bred beagle that had 7 puppies at l...

Delta Dog Days

We have had Delta for almost a month.  As sweet as she has been, she is mischevous.   When we left her alone the first time to go to church, I made sure all the gates were locked, the pantry now had 2 heavy child-proof locks and I put a chair in front of it just to be sure.  Came home and she was on the other side of the gate in the hallway.  She had used the chair to jump on, and over the gate.  No damage anywhere and it was my fault about the chair.  Outside she has dug in the yard, trampled my flowers (taken over the yard), jumped from the pool deck through the rails and loves to howl at squirrels.  Can't jump that 6 foot fence though!!   Left her with friends, 3 gates and a crate for Labor Day weekend and other than escaping a gate once (not shut all the way) she was very good.  Does not like the car.  She has escaped the yard only once.  We were cleaning up after a storm and it was nearly dark, I came in the house and she...
