Awesome spring day

Where do I start? Matt came home on Friday to get his window fixed by Mike as it went down and never came up. He had to duct tape it....ghetto! Stayed up as late as I could bear. Sat. up early to go to Tom's Dad's memorial service at Bethany Lutheran in Detroit. The service was truly touching. After service we went to the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club for lunch. I had the best day (sorry it was a memorial day) with my extended family. So good to see Chris, Dawn, Rachel, Kelly, Tom, Camila, Kristen, Cindy, Tom, all the relatives: Cathy, Paul & Nancy's boys (all grown and hardly boys), meet Adam and others that are new to the family. Enjoyed seeing Ruth and Dave and it was just an overall great day. Nice visit with Matt (sorry Ron that we didn't make your surprise party for your 70th) and video chatted with Amanda and Emily. Up late, ditched church (we did a full service on Sat) and spent a beautiful spring day outside, cleaning flower beds, raking, catching u...

stuff stuff stuff

Pretty angry that creative inklings cancelled. This would have been the 5th year. Finally applied for the writing project this year as 7 years of summer math institute came to and end and after all that now am teaching LA. Waiting to hear if I am accepted. Will be taking a class for a month this summer but it has to help with teaching MS LA. Piano recital closing in. Lansing trip Monday. Dr. appt. tomorrow for KC. Trying to find a flight to Boston for Easter break that won't break me! Hard drive thing crashed last night and I need to replace it....$200.00. Never stops does it? Matt selling my old iPhone & iPod. Maybe will cover it! Hoped for something different (flight). Am angry that we took such a huge pay cut this year. Mad that I have to teach what is not fun. Fed up with behavior, rudeness, lack of respect, lack of being supported, ready for a new career...too bad I am old. It is what it is

Washington DC in February

Landed by 9:00 AM yesterday. Had an amazing lunch at a Middle Eastern place with A & B. YUM. Spent an hour at Plane park....OMG I never tire of watching the planes. It was in the 50's but windy and quite chilly but blue skies and perfect. We spent the afternoon at Crate & Barrel outlet, Crate & Barrel in Clarendon, Williams Sonoma, went to Whole Foods and Harris Teeter. Brian cooked an amazing chicken and rice dinner that I have to have the recipe for! Slept in this morning because we were all up early yesterday. Brian again cooked a delicious Fratatta and we were off to the spice store to buy oodles of spices. By the time we got to the Newseum, we decided to go and buy tickets with the idea that we can go back tomorrow. People behind us asked us to split a 2/1 ticket and we had a coupon so the 3 of us got in for 30.00 instead of 60.00. What an awesome day! They closed at 5 so we had to leave but will go early tomorrow to see the rest. Drove to the Pentago...

So I

slept in, went to later service, did 1.5 miles on the treadmill, some ironing and laundry, make turkey soup, meatloaf, cookies, practiced the piano, did lesson plans, read some for school, typed the minutes for the worship committee, went thru the paper, and that was just today. Friday, I sorted some school papers, checked them in, wrote and mailed Valentines, caught up on the newspaper and slept. Sat., errands, watered the plants, polished some silver and copper stuff (maybe that was today), made meatballs, groceries, did a get-together, iChated with kids., geeze, I need a day to do nothing. It is what it is....oh managed to have a meltdown about school Friday night and spent a few hours in a dark place. I guess we all need that once in awhile. The sermon today was about praise. Praise for what is good.

Super Bowl Sunday 2012

Skipped church since Otto is sick and didn't want to go alone. Spent 3 hours last week at the Ordination of our new Associate Minister. Anyway, been running like a chicken with my head off all day. Packed away the snowmen, got all the Valentine's stuff off, watered plants, laundry, back on the treadmill, cleaned the fish tanks, spent 2 hours at the Henry Ford at the new Auto Exhibition, stuff, stuff, stuff. Still have lesson plans to do and piano to practice. Heading up to recital weekend at end of March. Need more time like everyone else. Booked a flight to DC for Feb. 18th. Taking the 17th off to do stuff I can't do on the weekends including a return diagnostic MG. Car, hair, nails, dog...on and on it goes....crises de jour.....it is what it is!

Graduation 2012

Personal days approved for April/May for Grand Hotel week and Amanda's graduation week. Now to catch an early flight on May 2nd to be at Graduation for the Herberger that afternoon. Yikes....what a week. If I can come up with the $$ will go back 2 weeks later for Tommy's wedding. I so want to be there but want to go to Luke's wedding with the rest of my family...so torn and so poor! It is what it is!!!

Visit over

Matt has already left for Chicago, less than 48 hours of his arrival. He and his dad enjoyed the North American Auto Show, we celebrated his birthday, ate cake, junk, went to Walmart, stayed up late, iChated with Andrew & Amanda and I am ready to cry. I so look forward to visits and they are over so fast. I still have a bunch of stuff to do and just don't have the will to even start. Matt had work on his car to do, the snow and storm was so bad on Friday that his air filter got wet and he had a hard time driving. Took over 6 hours. I was racing like a maniac to get a haircut, dye & dry, do a couple errands and pick up balloons, snacks and Jet's!!! YUM! Stayed up as late as I could but it is NEVER long enough! Off to correct papers and do grades. Made lasagna and turkey soup to last the week. Hair and manicure look great....(in my opinion) now to get this foot healed....it is what it is!
