Awesome spring day

Where do I start? Matt came home on Friday to get his window fixed by Mike as it went down and never came up. He had to duct tape it....ghetto! Stayed up as late as I could bear. Sat. up early to go to Tom's Dad's memorial service at Bethany Lutheran in Detroit. The service was truly touching. After service we went to the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club for lunch. I had the best day (sorry it was a memorial day) with my extended family. So good to see Chris, Dawn, Rachel, Kelly, Tom, Camila, Kristen, Cindy, Tom, all the relatives: Cathy, Paul & Nancy's boys (all grown and hardly boys), meet Adam and others that are new to the family. Enjoyed seeing Ruth and Dave and it was just an overall great day. Nice visit with Matt (sorry Ron that we didn't make your surprise party for your 70th) and video chatted with Amanda and Emily. Up late, ditched church (we did a full service on Sat) and spent a beautiful spring day outside, cleaning flower beds, raking, catching up on all the work I needed to do (did grades and school stuff last night when Matt went to visit school friends) and now, dinner is in the oven, time change has taken effect for the daylight savings time. It is going on 8:00 and still light. Two weeks until recital, decision made to go for elementary next year, 3 flights coming up, Boston, Phoenix, Phoenix, God thank you for my wonderful life. Oh, lesson plans not done yet........It is what it is!

Delta Dog Days 3

 We have not been able to leave her alone for more than a few minutes.  UGH newborn.  She is a sweetheart and not bothered or barking at other dogs. After I worked at the Thrift shop I took her up to the pool deck and locked the gate.  She is so small  she got through the rungs of the deck.  ðŸ˜³  It is what it is.  She is so sweet but so is needy and so challenging.

Delta Dog Day 4

 Beyond belief, we both got to sleep upstairs in our bed all night!  She could not scale the new gate and settled in her crate in the kitchen around 2:00 AM.  Otto gave me the night but after she settled, he came upstairs and she did not bark or whine all night!!!   I came down after a shower, took her outside on her lead and then fed her.  Back upstairs to do my hair etc.  I heard "something" and came downstairs to find that she had opened the pantry (that has a magnet closure on it for dog/children safety) and had a bag of marshmallows on the floor, not opened thank goodness.   I blocked it with a chair but removed anything that she could get to if she opened it again (within her reach).  NOTE:  new plan for pantry.   Later in the day we were sitting outside with her and she picked some cherry tomatoes and ate them (yes I checked on Google that they are NOT poisonous for dogs).  After dinner with friends, she snatched a corncob an...

School's out, teacher let the fools out!

No more pencils, no more books, no more STUDENT'S dirty looks! What a group I had this year, eiy yie yie! I can honestly say if I never see some of that bunch again, it will be too soon. Fun party last night...too tired to sleep! Nice feeling to sleep in. ADK party this afternoon, piano lesson (may have to re-schedule), picking up new car in Ann Arbor and going to Amanda's 2 baseball games. Nice video chat with Andrew & Matt last night. They get so silly! Brian landed safely in L.A. at 2:09 our time. His plane from Philly was delayed over 3 hours. All day to go 5 hours sucks, but he is safe! Congratulations Matthew Sandoval on your middle school graduation. Have fun with your family. I cleaned out 2 filing cabinets of old 4th grade files and old materials we don't use any more. I think I filled 10 boxes to re-cycle. I didn't get my bulletin boards done for fall (who knows where I will be anyway!) or my books sorted (paperbacks). Administrative whispe...
