Easter Monday
After an exceptional and busy Easter weekend, we said goodbye to Matt & Dana, Brian and Andrew and I did what all good parents do with their adult children.....we went shopping! We shopped for a new lease for me only to discover that I had been somehow hit in the front popping the pins to my bumper. This was in addition to the damage on my back bumper from the thug that hit me on Saturday at the drive-thru of McDonalds. After the 6 of us had a great time in Hamtramck and lunch at Polish Village, one of Matt's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives list places. Today, the Livonia police told me that I have to file a report in Detroit . The good part was that Andrew photographed the license when the little jerk would not give us his driver's license as he jumped in his car, backed up and took off. His comment was that since there was no damage to his bumper, there could not possibly be any damage to mine (as I was pointing out all the dents, knicks and scratches). So, when I went to my dealership in Ann Arbor today, they said the back was minor but found damage that I had not noticed to the front. I wash my car by hand and dry it myself if I go thru the car wash and know this damage was really recent. Bottom line was that Otto and Andrew later popped it back into place. Andrew and I spent the morning driving the new CRV, picked our color and am just waiting to hear whether I need to do something now or wait until June when my lease is up. After a little shopping at World Market, Andrew found a new winter coat at Macy's. Major sales today so we headed for the outlets in Howell. We did some major shopping at Old Navy, Coach and a few other stores. Lunch was at Potbelly's (which I will be a poster child for if I don't stop eating out) and dinner at B'dubs. Really enjoyed my time with the kids. Tomorrow I have an appointment back in Ann Arbor for my hand. Lunch at Papa Vinos and home to start spring cleaning.
After returning home tonight, I was getting laundry out of the dryer and heard a dripping sound in the laundry tub coming from the basement ceiling. Upon closer investigation, the kitchen sink was leaking due to the recent installation of a new faucet a week ago, and the installer loosened the drain in the sink. No major damage, just a pain in the ass leak in the sink flooring and all the junk under the sink and rug were soaked. Never a dull moment. Andrew flies home in the morning and then, back to normal, whatever that is! It is what it is! Happy Spring, Happy April Fool's Day!
