Lucy Adventures

Early in the afternoon I went out to the garage to wash the windows in my car and vacuum the floors. I heard a funny bark and went to the back yard to investigate.  Lucy was on our side of the wooden fence trying to get a squirrel immediately on the other side.  I threw some sticks at the squirrel and it just sat there until I hit it and it meandered up the pole in the backyard that leads to the wires.  Lucy was going nuts and I tried to get her and bring her in the house.  I kept throwing sticks at the squirrel and it seemed in no hurry to leave.  Lucy nearly climbed the back wooden fence while the squirrel walked the wire, slipping and a couple of times turned upside down and sideways.  I finally got Lucy by the collar and brought her in.  When Otto go home, he let her out and she hopped on her dog house and over the fence while he was chasing her and trying to stop her.  He followed her into the neighbor's back yard going the same way she went.  Their gate was open and the two were off.  He caught up with her and carried her back to our yard while I got the garage open only to find the squirrel in the front yard.   When Lucy saw it she nearly got out of Otto's grasp and he grabbed her collar, making her nearly pass out.  In the 16 degrees, he could barely catch his breath.  Both got home, Lucy revived and Otto had an asthma episode that took him near 2 hours to breathe normally again.  He ran into the yard in slippers and no jacket after her.  Lucy is again on a chain in the back yard and I want to shoot that stupid squirrel.  Something is definitely wrong with it.  I thought it was going to come right in the garage.   It is what it is and what a day we had!  PS....we are going to be grandparents...Matt & Dana are expecting in September.
