Matt & Dana's Shower

Well thank God, there was no shower during the shower even though they were predicted.  I can't believe after all the planning and anticipation, it is over and everyone is back home (almost).  The shower was almost perfect!  The major meltdown was the food not happening at the last minute (Wednesday night) but Andrew helped me through it and I got it together enough to organize and find what we needed in time.
Amanda and Bryce arrived first taking a red-eye from L.A. arriving around 6:30 Thursday morning.  Spent the day busy, she surprised her bff,  and we did all sorts of running around.  Friday, Andrew and Brian arrived in the morning from Boston, followed by Matt & Dana from Chicago.  We were able to pick up the remainder of the needed/ordered.  The day flew by and it was 2:00 in the morning before we knew it.
Saturday there was so much to do to finish.  I get bossy and stressed but it all came together.  Everything was finally ready and the rest of the day is a blur!
What a party we throw!  And late night again!  Matt & Dana received so many beautiful things.  Thank you to so many people for your help, your generosity and your love!  Baby Dobos is going to be styling', and wanting for nothing!
Sunday........ugh!   The clean up began.  After breakfast Matt & Dana were the first to leave after we brought Lucy back from the kennel.  They packed it all up and were gone by noon.  The rest of the afternoon we were in the pool, cleaning up and trying to relax before the bad weather hit.  First trip to the airport was around 5:00 to take Andrew & Brian, Brian returning to Boston, Andrew to Tampa for work on Monday.  When I returned the sky had become dark (and kinda green).  The sirens sounded and the the wind picked up with some heavy rain for about 10 minutes.  I saw more lightening on the way home from the airport and at the airport then we had with round one of the storm.  (Planes were landing like crazy but backed up for take off).  By the time we took Amanda & Bryce to the airport (about 7) it was pouring to the point of flooded roads.  We learned that Brian was on a plane in line to take off and just sitting while Andrew was dealing with delays and re-routing.  Amanda & Bryce learned their flight was delayed about 4 hours.  About 10 minutes after we got home, Andrew threw in the towel and called me to come and get him.  I expected to make a 4th trip for A & B 2 but they finally took off about 12:30 and arriving 1:30 LA time.   Up early this morning to take Andrew back who was able to get a flight directly to Ft. Meyers (Delta status helped that) but his bag was in Atlanta.  He will be late to his project but at least he will arrive!!  He may arrive in jeans and a polo shirt!
Poor Brian will have to go through the bad weather in Boston today that we had yesterday.
Time to get to work and get things back to normal, if there is ever a normal in the Dobos household!  It was the best to have all 6 home but alas, a lot of planning and a lot of work!  Someone suggested I should be a party planner.  I have seriously thought about doing that when I retire.  Add it to my list of a day at Pier I, part-time at Greenfield Village, a couple days a week working for the airlines (I decided I am too old to be a flight attendant), and a party planner.  Sounds like retirement to me (oh and math tutor).  It is what it is and it is Monday.....after the party and the storm.
