As Paris Grieves

Don't have any words to describe what happened Friday in my favorite city.  How does this happen?  How do people fill themselves with so much hate that they can kill so many people and then themselves.  In prayer and tears for Paris.

Started my Saturday early with ADK luncheon and auction.  On the hunt to finish my Nutcracker table for FOT on Dec. 7th.

I have grades/citizenship done for 1st quarter.   Amanda & Bryce are home from European Honeymoon with so many issues that Amanda was put through.   Andrew was in London all week and flew to LasVegas on Friday to meet Brian who is running his first 10K.   Matt & Dana & Hannah are all good in Chicago.

 Fighting a sinus infection (Dobos thing), was up very early to play both services with Joyful Ringers this morning.

Finished laundry,working on Festival of Tables table, lesson plans, tomorrows lesson,washed my car because it was 65 today, cooking turkey veg soup for non-blue apron days and making Roast Pork and Braised Endive for tonight.   Took Lucy on her first walk since her back injury and am ready to crash !    

Totally decided to order Thanksgiving dinner from Kroger with a 13 lb. turkey.  No one is coming home (wedding a month ago) and we have no one to cook dinner for.  First time in 43 years we have no one to spend the day with, so, Kroger it is.  Will pick up and take to Otto's mom's because she has no one to spend the day with either.  It is what it is.  Will get our decorating done early!

 We have not been able to leave her alone for more than a few minutes.  UGH newborn.  She is a sweetheart and not bothered or barking at other dogs. After I worked at the Thrift shop I took her up to the pool deck and locked the gate.  She is so small  she got through the rungs of the deck.  😳  It is what it is.  She is so sweet but so is needy and so challenging.

Delta Dog Day 4

 Beyond belief, we both got to sleep upstairs in our bed all night!  She could not scale the new gate and settled in her crate in the kitchen around 2:00 AM.  Otto gave me the night but after she settled, he came upstairs and she did not bark or whine all night!!!   I came down after a shower, took her outside on her lead and then fed her.  Back upstairs to do my hair etc.  I heard "something" and came downstairs to find that she had opened the pantry (that has a magnet closure on it for dog/children safety) and had a bag of marshmallows on the floor, not opened thank goodness.   I blocked it with a chair but removed anything that she could get to if she opened it again (within her reach).  NOTE:  new plan for pantry.   Later in the day we were sitting outside with her and she picked some cherry tomatoes and ate them (yes I checked on Google that they are NOT poisonous for dogs).  After dinner with friends, she snatched a corncob an...

School's out, teacher let the fools out!

No more pencils, no more books, no more STUDENT'S dirty looks! What a group I had this year, eiy yie yie! I can honestly say if I never see some of that bunch again, it will be too soon. Fun party last night...too tired to sleep! Nice feeling to sleep in. ADK party this afternoon, piano lesson (may have to re-schedule), picking up new car in Ann Arbor and going to Amanda's 2 baseball games. Nice video chat with Andrew & Matt last night. They get so silly! Brian landed safely in L.A. at 2:09 our time. His plane from Philly was delayed over 3 hours. All day to go 5 hours sucks, but he is safe! Congratulations Matthew Sandoval on your middle school graduation. Have fun with your family. I cleaned out 2 filing cabinets of old 4th grade files and old materials we don't use any more.
