Geeze Louieze.....the weekend is already over. I spent Saturday at my first piano lesson of the season and running errands and Otto & I went to an awesome old car show at Greenfield Village. So many people, so many cars. They were old......beginnings to about 1940. Today was spent doing Sunday stuff. Pool both days. Hard to believe it is mid-September, the days have been 70-80's and the pool is heated to about 80. The flowers and yard look so nice. I could live like this year round. Big week coming. I have a field trip to the Science Ctr. in Detroit tomorrow for my 5th graders, A science workshop Tuesday at RESA, normal day on Wed and off for the Wedding on Thursday and Friday. Lexi got to AZ safe yesterday, Amanda, Brian & Andrew all come home on Wednesday, Matt & Dana on Thursday and we go from there! I feel confident that all is ready, I have my 6th grade math meeting Monday night, then Worship Committee, and Wed. is ADK, picking Amanda up from the airport and on to Handbells later. I am glad I am busy but stress over emergency lesson plans, homework policy and regular lesson plans, MEAP packets and all the other stuff due this week with so much going on. It always gets done and.....it is what it is

No more pencils, no more books, no more STUDENT'S dirty looks! What a group I had this year, eiy yie yie! I can honestly say if I never see some of that bunch again, it will be too soon. Day 103

Today is June 23, 2020 the 2nd day of summer.  It is dark and woke up to rain (and Lucy barking).  We need the rain.  After a flooding spring, it has been hot and dry.  Everything is looking August especially the lawns.  I am painting Amanda's room (2nd day).  Ceiling and patching done yesterday, walls and floor trim today.  Did Matt's room last week, took 3 days with all the trim and chair rail.  Turned out nice and soft.  Used Mineral Green.   Amanda's room is called Cement Pots.  Both are Magnolia Homes pain and it is a dream to work with.  One coat, quickly dries and looks great. Removed the 30-year-old linoleum from the stairs but had to have our Handy-man steam off the guck left.  Now we will sand and paint a dark grey.   Using non-skid.  I can't stand the thought of carpet or peel & stick tiles. Mouse Hell

Today started out normally.  Drove to west side of state to start auction process on my brother's house.  We had to meet with the realtor and make a list for auction.  Lots of cool old stuff but just about everywhere there are mouse signatures.  2 minutes in the "house" and one ran by the door.  No one has lived in the "cabin-in-the-woods" since November last year.  Chipmunk was next.  An "out" building housed a whole family of mice.   I nearly passed out right then and there.  Lots of goodies to sell.   Nicole from Rehab Addict would love this place.  Truly a paradise, but, to this now city girl, I was glad to be back in suburbia.   It is what it is.
