Day 6 Quarantine New Learning
It was a day of new normal. Started the day with a Google Hangout. Andrew had to re-configure my computer (MacBook Air) to talk to whatever it is we have at school. Took a long time and he is my super knowledge tech person. Make me stop now with negative comments about tech support because they are swamped with people like me that have no knowledge of any of this!
We covered many things that have happened this last week. We are all working from home, researching, trying to reach out to parents and students, handing out packets of work (our district has students without internet or devices to access on-line resources), trying to reach out to parents, keeping up with this insane virus and just taking care of ourselves and our families.
I am just getting over a sinus infection with drugs, and want to help take care of my extended family but am afraid to travel and suspect myself to this virus.
I have cancelled a dog appointment for her vaccines that will keep her safe should we have to kennel her. I have cancelled everything that is my normal that wasn't already cancelled. No TOPS, no handbells or church, no piano lessons, no nail appointments, no haircuts, no stores, no shopping. They only thing I have done since Saturday was walk the dog in my neighborhood, schoolwork and clean.
Today another first. We are piano pioneers. My piano teacher and I FaceTimed my lesson!!! It took some prep (I copied all my music and lessons and drove them to her house, left them on her porch and set up a first!!!) Recital is cancelled this year (2 years ago was cancelled due to ice storm) but we persevered. Other students hopefully will follow!!!
I am learning to Google everything, learning what PDF's are and how to talk to everyone without leaving my house. It is what it is and it is the NEW NORMAL!
Oh btw, I have Blue Apron delivery but because I cancelled for Easter break trips and tried to change due to trips cancelled, I cannot get back. Insta cart here I come!
