End of Week....Finally

Geeze Loueeze....this was the longest week ever! I have a really good class this year so far. Two squirrels from last year but they are manageable. New boss....interesting character. I like him and he is trying to make it all work but is a manager of everything. We have so run ourselves for so long. Talked to my former boss this week, he is so loving retirement...I am sooo jealous. Miss being home and being on my own...reading the paper, blogging, shopping, visiting, drinking coffee, no schedule....love it. Lots of demands this week. Wedding tomorrow night..daughter of a good friend at our church and reception at St. Johns.
Miss my pool and the sun and the summer.
I soooo enjoyed my trip to DC last weekend. Andrew & Brian are celebrating their one-year anniversary this weekend. I love flying and getting there in an hour when driving takes 9. Ok, I snuck out! The zoo was delightful, I enjoyed my day on the mall which included the American Indian Museum, the bureau of printing and engraving and the Castle and gardens. The weather was marvelous and held until Sunday. Flew home in the rain and fog and once we reached altitude, it was sunny and clear. Cooled off for school but the pool is over. I saw A& B and Matt all in the same weekend. I think I could have been an airline hostess. I could fly everywhere. Oh, on Sat . we drove to Monticello...Jefferson's home. To think that you are walking on the same grounds and the house of someone who lived 200 plus years ago and signed the most important documents of this country. And was so smart he drafted those documents. It is amazing. His grounds and gardens and everything was amazing. Washington DC is amazing. I never tire of being there. Always more to see and do and can't wait until I go again. Maybe April. Back to everything this week. Piano, bells, math meeting, ADK, being admonished because I missed a staff meeting. Oh....where did the summer go??? It was just minutes ago I was looking forward to it all. It is what it is! Happy Anniversary Andrew & Brian!

Delta Dog Days 3

 We have not been able to leave her alone for more than a few minutes.  UGH newborn.  She is a sweetheart and not bothered or barking at other dogs. After I worked at the Thrift shop I took her up to the pool deck and locked the gate.  She is so small  she got through the rungs of the deck.  ðŸ˜³  It is what it is.  She is so sweet but so is needy and so challenging.

Delta Dog Day 4

 Beyond belief, we both got to sleep upstairs in our bed all night!  She could not scale the new gate and settled in her crate in the kitchen around 2:00 AM.  Otto gave me the night but after she settled, he came upstairs and she did not bark or whine all night!!!   I came down after a shower, took her outside on her lead and then fed her.  Back upstairs to do my hair etc.  I heard "something" and came downstairs to find that she had opened the pantry (that has a magnet closure on it for dog/children safety) and had a bag of marshmallows on the floor, not opened thank goodness.   I blocked it with a chair but removed anything that she could get to if she opened it again (within her reach).  NOTE:  new plan for pantry.   Later in the day we were sitting outside with her and she picked some cherry tomatoes and ate them (yes I checked on Google that they are NOT poisonous for dogs).  After dinner with friends, she snatched a corncob an...

School's out, teacher let the fools out!

No more pencils, no more books, no more STUDENT'S dirty looks! What a group I had this year, eiy yie yie! I can honestly say if I never see some of that bunch again, it will be too soon. Fun party last night...too tired to sleep! Nice feeling to sleep in. ADK party this afternoon, piano lesson (may have to re-schedule), picking up new car in Ann Arbor and going to Amanda's 2 baseball games. Nice video chat with Andrew & Matt last night. They get so silly! Brian landed safely in L.A. at 2:09 our time. His plane from Philly was delayed over 3 hours. All day to go 5 hours sucks, but he is safe! Congratulations Matthew Sandoval on your middle school graduation. Have fun with your family. I cleaned out 2 filing cabinets of old 4th grade files and old materials we don't use any more. I think I filled 10 boxes to re-cycle. I didn't get my bulletin boards done for fall (who knows where I will be anyway!) or my books sorted (paperbacks). Administrative whispe...
