Missing Bunny
Our rabbit that I have adopted this summer has not been around for about a week. No sightings at all. I miss seeing him. He was affectionately called Peter and Run Rabbit Run. He gave Casey a good work out and totally destroyed my corner bed of pink and fuchsia and purple impatiens, which of course, I tried to reason with him about. I told him he was welcome here but please watch out for the dogs and eat all the crab grass! I know it was silly to attach to a wild rabbit but he seemed so comfortable and tame. I could get so close and chat! About a week ago Otto spotted a hawk (may have been the same one that was in our back yard on the deck rail on Feb. 14th) in a tree in the front yard. I commented then that Peter lived under the Hostas in the side yard and the hawk was looking that way. It is what it is but he sure made our yard more interesting this summer. PS I still have no hummingbirds. The feeder has been up since early April and I change the food weekly and move it around occasionally. Guess it is not quiet, dark, woodsy whatever enough. Amanda and I saw one at Cotswold Cottage when we were there for tea. Guess I should do my yard with flowers like there! Hmmmm next summer!
