Knee Brace
It started out as a normal Monday. I decided to take my class to the Hamtramck Public Library on a field trip to get their cards and an orientation to the library. Nice cool morning, great mile walk, no rain, great tour and coming out to return to school, I turned to look at my line and in front of St. Ladislaus, I tripped on a broken sidewalk that was higher than the rest and splayed on palms and landed on my right knee. Well, the kids didn't laugh, helped me up (yes I wanted to cry) and we cleaned up the blood off my palms. I was more worried about my carpal tunnel surgery scars and areas than my knees which were un cut. I ended limping back to school (a mile) and filled out an accident report, took a motrin and ate lunch. By 2:00 when I walked down the 30 some stairs, I could barely walk. Ended up in the shithole they call Concentra, where I was told to go for 2 hours sitting waiting to see a doctor. The clientele......eyiyayayai! I think I was the only non-drug test there. Anyway, no fractures but I was roughed up a bit. Contusions to my knee and these people are so dumb they wrote "abrasion of toe/foot w/infection. I never took my socks off!!! I scraped the hell out of my hands! So, I told him we are MEAPing for 2 days, and Friday is my last day in my classroom, then I am packing my room to move on M & T next week. So, now I am on 100% sitting. Don't know how I will get up and down the stairs. Since our building is 115 years old there is no ramp or elevator. Got pain pills and more motrin. I was ready to walk out after sitting for and hour and a half. BP was 175/80 I was soooo mad. By the time I left it was back to normal. I HATE those places and have to go back Wed. May have to do PT....nooooooooooooooo! And then, there is my brother Bob. That is another blog. It is what it is! Oh, Concentra was about 40 degrees and had Animal Planet on non-stop...............arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
