A thousand years...

Christina Perri's A Thousand Years is my new favorite song....what a divine day. Lunch with BFF teacher friends in one of my favorite cities....Royal Oak..shopping at Penzey's, Dress Barn (my ultimate favorite place...want to work there when I retire) and just an all around glorious day....I could do 10,000 more just like today. Love life when I don't have to deal with the stress of 8th graders. So sorry to hear about a long-time church friend passing today. So sad. Want the good people to last forever. He was such a good person...so dedicated. Excited to have Andrew visit tomorrow if it is only for a few minutes on his way to Luke's bach party. I will have to drive slowly from the airport to enjoy every second. I love my Easter decorations and don''t want to put them away yet. Today was a divine day..it is what it is and I want it to be like this forever.

F.O.R.D.

So my husband bought a new Escape last November. Took it to the dealer on Friday for several little things including a knock in the engine. They still have it, may have it for the next week (he has a loaner) and are talking about having to replace the engine with like 6,000 miles on it.....WHAT???? I am not going to make any negative FORD comments because I like his car and it was my idea to get this. I am on my 2nd Honda and he drove one for years before he put 200,000 miles on it and something major broke and he hit the wall at 70mph about 6 years ago. Matt worked for Honda, drives one and talked me into my Accord after my Mountaineer that I put 160,000 miles on. (I loved that more than ANY car I have ever driven and still miss it.) I am just worried that this is a sign of other things to come. Now mind you, I had a Chevy wagon, a Taurus wagon, an Aerostar (ugh and ugly), 3 Windstars (the 1st one had to have the transmission replaced at under 50,000 miles, suddenly lost reve...

What a Glorious Day!

Finally, spring break. Matt and I went to Polish Market in Hamtramck today and bought pierogi for dinner. We walked Joseph Campau street, stopped at New Palace bakery, went to the Polish Art Center, drove around and stopped at St. Florian, parked and went in as they were preparing for the blessing of the baskets. OMG! What a beautiful cathedral. I have wanted to go in there for the 12 years I have worked in Hamtramck. It was better than I knew it would be. What a landmark. I would love to go there for services! Ready for Easter! Table set, things that I can do ahead are done. Eggs dyed, haircut, nails done, sausages purchased from Polish Market, pysanki ready, so ready for taste of chocolate after 6 long weeks. Attended Stations of the Cross, Tennebrae service and ready, ready, ready for Easter service tomorrow. What a Glorious day.....it is what it is and I am ready for a week off.
