Christmas Winding Down 2014
Adjusting to all the quiet time. Andrew and Bryce left Friday. Amanda is here a couple more days but everyone is probably ready to wind down and get back to normal. Whatever that is in the Dobos household! Enjoying our time playing Scrabble, watching Modern Family, movies (I think we have watched 4 now) and mostly yakking!
The list of to-dos when she is home is long and we never get it all done! Lucy has enjoyed our down time on our laps...smelly beagle!
My brother is still in the hospital but headed to a nursing facility for some re-hab and continued improvement. He has a long way to go but with a team of doctors and the right medications, he should improve. Going to see him Tuesday. Will stop and see my other brother and his family. Hopefully the weather improves.
Quiet a Christmas. Andrew fell down the stairs (all the stupid stuffed animals on the stairs are not conducive to travel up and down them I guess!), broke a chair, Amanda cut her finger trying to slice a bagel and everyone left too soon!
The hardest part (besides the empty quiet house) is putting the tons of decorations and 18 trees away (most of them small) It takes 2-3 weeks to put it up and just about that long to take down. All the cleaning to do both! Then I forget where I stuffed things! My goal use to be MLK day but now it is the Auto Show weekend or Matt's Birthday on the 25th of January! It is so worth it. The lights are spectacular (and so is the bill). Last year we had about 5 snow/cold days in January and I worked packing things away and had it done early!) This year, not going to happen! Still listening to Christmas music on the cable menu. Never seems to last long enough.
The guys leave for Costa Rica today! New Year's Eve in 4 days. No plans. It Is What It Is and I will look forward to the next "together" wherever and whatever it may be.
Oh the eating! YIKES! We have had it all! Fondue, desserts, crab legs, shrimp, ham (twice) cheesy potatoes (once a little off the recipe LOL), cheese, cheese, wine. Back to the treadmill and walks for Lucy I go1
"T'was the month after Christmas and all through the house, nothing would fit me, not even a blouse......"
