Day 66 Big News from Moderna
Well the best news in quite some time is Moderna issued a press release that a vaccine is in human trials and looking very promising. Covid may soon be a thing of the past. Good news good news!
Still trying to figure out so many things about school and the end of the year and how we will close our classrooms, give stuff back to the kids from their lockers and figure out what next fall will look like. Still under quarantine restrictions. Staying home. Wanted to head to Chicago for the long Memorial Day weekend but no, not a wise idea yet.
I bought 14 flats (and had to get more white) of impatiens and started the big dig on Saturday. Emptied the greenhouse and used it to work in on Sunday between rain storms. So far I have all the red and white in the front (pots) done and repotted everything in the greenhouse. All the geraniums are clipped and around the pool. Repotted all the ferns, spider plants and palms. I wanted to do more but my back would not let me. It has rained all day today (Monday) or I would be out working now after work. I have the 2 gardens off the patio to do, the corner garden and the front yard row of red and white and then all the pots I put all over the yard. I did get my herbs in and 3 tomato plants. Last will be the side yards where all the perennials are. I always have to fill in what didn't make it over the winter and where the greenhouse sits. Always anxious to get it all done because I enjoy it and summer is so short. Guess we won't be having any big parties THIS year but hopefully can have a few people over here and there. Love sharing my yard. Will post photos as I always do. Lots of work for this aging teacher!
Poor Lucy, she has not had a walk in 2 days and with my asthma I can't take her in this cold wet weather. It is hard to stay in but not worth a breathing treatment! Last Thursday it stormed so hard I had to give Lucy her anti-anxiety meds all day and night (and she still nearly took the gate down trying to get upstairs to us that night). She has become more than spoiled not having to be crated during the day as we are both home working all day.
I miss school and the normalcy about life. I miss the kids (yes I miss them) and my co-workers and friends and my children and gc, and church and restaurants and going out and I am sure everyone else feels the same. We miss haircuts and nail appointments and taking the dog in for a groom, and showers and weddings and meetings and well we all know. We know it will end....eventually. We have a lakeshore warning in Livonia and.....no lakes!! Maybe we will have new lakes with all this rain, the park is flooded and maybe when we open the pool we won't need to add water! Ok off to puzzle. It is what it is and in 17 days school will end and no more posting lessons and sitting in front of a computer all day.
