oh geeze here it is Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. I am making pasta salad and brownies to go to my brother's place at the lake tomorrow and spend some time with him at the lake. I just took Casey for a walk in the full moon (light) and could see Mars. Our neighborhood is one with carriage lights in the yard and no street lights. Thank goodness our sidewalks were all replaced and leveled last year so it is easy to walk in the dark. What is with our street being dug up in the middle of the 2 blocks is beyond my comprehension! Casey didn't even see the rabbit hopping across our path, surprise since she had squirrel for lunch last week. Euwww! Anyway, I was watching the planes over head going into their landing patterns and marveling at the engineering of flight. I will never tire of watching them land or take off.
While I was out doing errands today, I was at the deli and ran into a very rude employee of a major chain store in Michigan. God, who do they think they are? I didn't take a number when only one other person was in line so she chastised me for speaking up when I was next before her. The little shitty mousy jerk behind the counter didn't even look my way when she knew I was next Both of them worked for the store. I filed a formal complaint after being berated while another lady came to my rescue. I am sure the store manager will be contacting me soon......ya right! Don't get it...when did the customer become the bad guy? What nerve. I should have called the manager when the whole thing started, like that would do any good. Happy that I found Keds without having to order on line. Typed out my welcome letter to go home first day and took a new photo for this blog.....like I know how to post it. Oh, finished Julie and Julia today, during a two hour delight in the cold pool with the warm sunshine on the raft. Amanda got her package from me today of all the stuff she forgot when packing to go to Arizona State and all the stuff we couldn't find there. Glad for that.....It is, after all, what it is.

 We have not been able to leave her alone for more than a few minutes.  UGH newborn.  She is a sweetheart and not bothered or barking at other dogs. After I worked at the Thrift shop I took her up to the pool deck and locked the gate.  She is so small  she got through the rungs of the deck.  ðŸ˜³  It is what it is.  She is so sweet but so is needy and so challenging.

Delta Dog Day 4

 Beyond belief, we both got to sleep upstairs in our bed all night!  She could not scale the new gate and settled in her crate in the kitchen around 2:00 AM.  Otto gave me the night but after she settled, he came upstairs and she did not bark or whine all night!!!   I came down after a shower, took her outside on her lead and then fed her.  Back upstairs to do my hair etc.  I heard "something" and came downstairs to find that she had opened the pantry (that has a magnet closure on it for dog/children safety) and had a bag of marshmallows on the floor, not opened thank goodness.   I blocked it with a chair but removed anything that she could get to if she opened it again (within her reach).  NOTE:  new plan for pantry.   Later in the day we were sitting outside with her and she picked some cherry tomatoes and ate them (yes I checked on Google that they are NOT poisonous for dogs).  After dinner with friends, she snatched a corncob an...

School's out, teacher let the fools out!

No more pencils, no more books, no more STUDENT'S dirty looks! What a group I had this year, eiy yie yie! I can honestly say if I never see some of that bunch again, it will be too soon. Fun party last night...too tired to sleep! Nice feeling to sleep in. ADK party this afternoon, piano lesson (may have to re-schedule), picking up new car in Ann Arbor and going to Amanda's 2 baseball games. Nice video chat with Andrew & Matt last night. They get so silly! Brian landed safely in L.A. at 2:09 our time. His plane from Philly was delayed over 3 hours. All day to go 5 hours sucks, but he is safe! Congratulations Matthew Sandoval on your middle school graduation. Have fun with your family. I cleaned out 2 filing cabinets of old 4th grade files and old materials we don't use any more. I think I filled 10 boxes to re-cycle. I didn't get my bulletin boards done for fall (who knows where I will be anyway!) or my books sorted (paperbacks). Administrative whispe...
