Santa Montica Blvd.

These days they are just flying by...Bill Waterson, creator of Calvin & Hobbes.  Friday I went back downtown Hollywood for lunch with Amanda and we had delish subs from Jersey Mikes.  Walked around BBB a bit and this time it only took me an hour to get back home as I got off at the right stop instead of 6 stops late.  Feelin' pretty "city" now.  Spent some time at the pool reading.  Did some laundry and talked with Bryce as he was working from home.  When Amanda got home, we cleaned all the broken glass from the car from the door mirror that broke and had pizza for dinner.  A & B worked on hanging pictures.  Saturday they rented a pick up from U-Haul (what an ordeal, we were there before 10:00 and they didn't get to us until nearly 11:00 and tried to tell us that it was not their fault and we still needed the truck back by 3:00 as someone else was on the wait list.  Well too damn bad.  We rented it for 5 hours not 4.  The greasy pig that squeals the loudest wins, and I won.  Indeed)  Could not leave the car so we had to bring it back to the appt., went to BevMo (Beverages and More....the alcohol store in CA), Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Ikea.  Three hours later, (it took over an hour to get thru the que of cars to the dock to load what we had purchased), we raced home, unloaded the stuff in the garage and went to return the truck which had 16 minutes to be back.  They topped off the tank and rolled in the lot at 3:59.  Dobos luck!  Then the girl there tried to give smack to Amanda but she stood her ground and when the new girl found out who had messed up in the morning, she shook her head and went "oh..ya, ok".  Hmmm.  Spent the evening unpacking all the goodies, Amanda and Bryce assembling everything, and topped off the evening with a cheese, bread and summer salami, and wine dinner with a lot of Modern Family re-runs thrown in.  Today it is overcast as it is every morning but will still clear and be a beautiful Southern California Day.  It is what it is.  I am missing Lucy and Otto. even though I love it here.  Wish it was closer and I could visit more often, or the kids could visit more often with out having to take 2nd jobs!
