Day 44: April 27, 2020
I vowed to blog more with the quarantine but I have been so darn busy with school lessons and trying to figure out Google Classroom that there has been very little extra time.
I had a "breaking point" on my last blog post. I think we are all at a breaking point especially to hear another 2 weeks of staying home to stay safe.
I could not join the distribution of the computers at my school as I am high risk with asthma and breathing problems and I AM OLD! I did get a Dr. note but I am not one to shy back on volunteering as most everyone knows ALL the stuff I do at school and out of school.
I think I got the hang of the Google Classroom lessons and since we are thematic for the next 7 weeks, creating a weekly math lesson with follow-up worksheets has been kind of fun. I get very nervous trying to remember how to do it all correctly.
Cancelled my May trip to Boston, another heartache but I realize it could be much worse for me and my family. LA, Chicago and Boston families are all well and employed.
I have lost 7 connections in this virus, people I know or are relatives of friends. All older but still......
In a positive connection, I finished ALL the door painting in my house. Started on Spring Break and finished today. I lost track but there are around 19 doors, ALL WHITE except for my front door and side garage door....BOSTON red.
Speaking of Boston, Andrew's 38th birthday is today. Again, feel badly for no celebration of dinner out or birthday friends, cake....next year.
What will I do for painting now that doors are done? Start all the white trim so every room in this house can be painted this summer. I made a deal, pay someone to do the ceilings and I will do everything else!
7 weeks to do until summer break. This is not normal, it is our new normal and something has to be changed. We can't live like this forever.
Spring is here, walking Lucy every day, cool then warm, then freezing! Flowering trees, tulips, daffodils, beauty. Not enjoying this scary adventure. It is what it is and we don't like it! I am selfish! I need a haircut, a manicure and back to our social life!!!!
